Vlink: video transmission systems over optical fiber
The Vlink products were first designed and commercialized in 1995 as a video transport solution to maximise the utilisation of optical fiber. Thanks to a high-speed digital multiplexing technique, Vlink can transport in real-time several video and audio channels without compression along an optical fiber.
These products were designed to provide uncompressed video links for broadcast and video-surveillance environments. Typical applications would include links among TV centres or video contribution from live events.
More than 250 contribution video links are presently provided by Vlink to well known companies such as Telefonica, Abertis Telecom, TSA or Antena 3 TV in Spain , and the BBC (UK), RAI ( Italy ), CCTV ( China ) or Bulsatcom ( Bulgaria ) internationally. Additionally, the video surveillance range is providing more than 200 video links at the Öresund Link from the cameras monitoring the fix link between Denmark and Sweden .
Broadcast equipment
After years of engineering activities with the Vlink products, Crisa reinforced its position in the professional video market. Crisa Audiovisual Systems, the so-called division, was a key reference in the Spanish market for system integration, project management and broadcast equipment distribution.
Video Distribution / Video On Demand
In the area of video distribution, Crisa pioneered the design, implementation and management of Imagenio, Spain 's biggest video on demand service over ADSL for Telefonica.
Crisa has also participated in the pilots for Mobile-TV using DVB-H technology, integrating and installing the video streaming encoding headers which Abertis Telecom uses to broadcast several national wide TV channels to Nokia devices in collaboration with Telefonica Moviles.
Automated advertising insertion system
Taking profit of Crisa's experience on archiving and cataloguing multimedia files, Crisa has developed a Local Advertising Automated Insertion System developed for the Spanish broadcaster Antena 3 TV. This system allows to broadcast customised commercials to 5 different regions in Spain

Automatic toll collection systems
The Electronic Toll Collection system consists of the integration of the post antenna system, the Road Side Equipment (RSE) and the On Board Equipment (TAG) in vehicles, all developed by Crisa. The system allows in channel or free-flow configurations, to reduce queuing time at toll plazas, save fuel and lessen mobile emissions, and reduce toll collection costs.
Diagnostic and acquisition systems
A net distributed system has been developed and set up to provide better surveillance and diagnostic facilities for the LEP injection kickers at CERN's site. It comprises a tool to acquire, log, retrieve, select and visualise signals from the beam measurement pickup and the kickers magnets, to analyse them, and to compare them with stored reference pulses. The system allows acquisition and storage in a remote disk for up to four 30 Kbytes waveforms in less than 5 seconds.
